Our gin, our journey
For us, gin isn’t just a drink it’s a part of our journey. One twist that helped us Find Our Way. We don’t do gimmicks. What we do do is great small-batch, hand-crafted gin. We us locally inspired botyanicals to make fresh and wild flavours, crafted with care to make a damn good spirit.
It's the kind of artisan gin we would want to drink, so we're doing everything we can to bottle where we live and make that craft gin with true Scottish character. Small-batch, built on tradition but twisted with creativity.
We know it would be easy to make terrific claims about all sorts, where our ingredients come from and how special and interesting we are. We’re going to level with you and be honest right from the very beginning.
Not all our botanicals are sourced locally. Our starting spirit doesn’t come from next door. Our still wasn’t hand built by a local artisan who’s been making stills in the area for thousands of years.
But that’s because every story has to start somewhere. We aim to be in a position to make these claims honestly (apart from the ancient still making wizard). Some day in the future, we hope to have all the local and home-grown botanicals we dream of, and we’ll be accountable and transparent, so you can follow the journey and watch everything grow on our tiny Aberdeenshire farm.
Starting somewhere, growing every season
We’ve already planted tons of juniper trees and we aim that all our juniper will come from our own farm. But that’s just the start.
It's the same for all our botanicals. We’ve chosen them, not just because of how amazing they taste distilled, but also because we can grow them ourselves, or we can go and forage them from the end of the road. Everything that happens at Twistillery is done with one eye on the future, with an aim to become more sustainable, and more local and more deeply rooted with every season.
Your twist, your way
We won’t give you a perfect serve but we will encourage you to find your own twist.
